Bollinger's Bravado

I'm not sure what Lee Bollinger thinks he accomplished with his scolding of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad yesterday. In an attempt to justify his invitation to the Persian madman, he asked questions that he knew would not be answered and made accusations that he knew would be denied. What did he reveal or uncover that we did not already know? Absolutely zero. So all he did was give the little lunatic a speaking platform.

I was rather hoping Bollinger's bad boys would rush the stage as they have done to deny freedom of speech to American citizens in the past. I knew it wouldn't happen, but it was a funny fantasy.

Bollinger is probably congratulating himself for standing up to Mahmoud the malevolent, meanwhile Ahmadinejad is laughing at the foolishness of the impotent university president and the silliness of his students and faculty. Bollinger has dramatically displayed that knowledge without wisdom is worthless and sometimes dangerous.

For a real laugh read the Islamic Republic News Agency's take on it.
